Projects:

Project Number 1

Name: "Just a heart bit away from the lonely!"

Description: There are a lot of lonely people! They need somebody to help them in the process of reintegration. They need to feel accepted! We would like to help with a transformation that implies a social, educational, moral and religious development for the benefit of reintegration in society and His Kingdom. We will be part of these through material support, visits, counseling, letters, food and showing tender care for those rejected from society.

Target:

  • Lonely peoples ,abandoned, imprisoned
  • Persons from Penitentiary – State Penitentiary in Gherla
  • Persons released from Penitentiary
  • Lonely persons - old people

Project Number 2

Name: Counseling

Description: Many peoples are lonely that way they need to be visited at there place. Monthly we proposed to see what their needs are, their progress and what they do to reach the goals put into place by the social worker. Also we try to have a time to stay and talk and counsel our cases in the Elpis Foundation, to form a relationship with them and to know them better.

Target:

  • cases with financial problems, marital problems or divorced persons with kids
  • cases with psychological and family problems;

Project Number 3

Name: Servezel Project
Description: Last month I found out about a poor village from Satu Mare. Many people from this village make a living from working their land and also on the allocation from the State for their children. I had the opportunity to visit this village with Rev. Ken and Mihaela and I was able to see the needs this village has.

To help this community we thought that it will be necessary to improve the room where the kids of this village study. The room is in a really poor state. The walls of the building are not reliable and the life of the kids is in danger. Also the toilets are not in a mood to be used.

Purpose: Show love and compassion in a practical way

Goals: Make a decent place for the good and comfortable study time;
also arrange the cultural center.

Materials: Construction materials, woods, electric equipment, cables, doors paints, and all the things that we need for painting the building and making it to look better.

Being a social project, we would like to help the families from this village in another way as well. We thought to prepare some small packages (cloths, foods) for these families. (There are 30 families in the village)

The expenses:

  • School building – $ 2500
  • Toilets – $ 400
  • Transport and food for 1 week for workers – $ 150

We need also volunteer and people who are skillful in these kinds of activities.

 Project Number 4

Name: Helping Hands

Description: The joy of the poor children who are studying in schools means a lot to us and their needs as well; to have things that help them grow up in a harmonious way, and clean and decent articles of clothing for season…this is one of their needs. And, at the same time, having all that it is necessary for a valuable and useful learning time.

Target: Poor children who are learning at “Avram Iancu” School –Dej

Needs:

  • Clothing for children (shoes, morning – gown, lingerie, socks)
  • Toilet articles
  • School staff (5₤/month for 1 child)

Project Number 5

Name: I Am Not Alone

Description: Beyond a certain age, you begin to feel like a burden to those around you. This is so due to the weakness and the power that is fading away by the age. You feel lonely and useless. This is the reason why we believe that the senior citizens need us. They need us so that their feeling of frustration will not be so heavy and the loneliness in their lives not that present. We could offer them unconditional help so that their needs might be resolved.

Target: Senior citizens from “Casa Rezidentiala de Batrani “AGAPE”-Tihau, Salaj - Rezidential Center for Senior Citizens “AGAPE” in Tihau, Salaj”

Needs:

  • Clothing for the elderly (shoes, morning – gown, lingerie, socks)
  • Toilet articles
  • Furniture

[return]

Prayer Requests:

  • Wisdom in coordinating the counseling activity so that the people would benefit spiritually from this
  • God’s guidance upon the various activities and projects developed by the Social Work Department
  • Pray for the two volunteers that have offered their time to support this ministry
  • New individuals who wish to work as volunteers
  • For the volunteers who will be here this summer and will help us in the social department
