There is hunger and thirst in our world today. The need for food and water is huge. Yet there is hunger and thirst for something more than just food and water: knowledge. The highest knowledge is that of God. The purpose of the Christian Literature Department is to provide the “food” needed to satisfy the hunger for this knowledge.

The purpose of the library:

• The Elpis Library exists to serve the pastors and ministers within the churches from the Dej area, the Elpis Kindergarten as well as the various church planting projects.
• To offer to the children and young people from families that do not belong to the Evangelical Churches the possibility to listen, read and assimilate messages based on solid Christian ethics.

Objectives:

• Furnishing the area for the Library
  Increasing the number and the variety of books available
  Setting up a computer network for the use in the Library

Prayer Request:

• The persons that will have access to these books to be blessed by using them.
• The pastors and ministers that will benefit from these books to be a blessing for their congregations.
• A positive impact on challenging the curiosity of the children and young people to search and study the literature with a good Christian message.

Needs:

• Adequate books and materials for Bible studies (Bible commentaries, dictionaries, encyclopedias)
• Adequate books and materials for Bible studies in electronic format
• Materials for children and youth (audio tapes – music, video – movies, CDs – various software, games, music and movies)
• Covering the expenses with the various activities of the Elpis Library

Purpose:

• The distribution of Christian Literature to the persons who are interested in knowing more about the Lord, and knowing more of the Lord.

Objectives:

• The distribution of the book Let’s study Mark and Acts
• Setting up a network for distributing the book
• Keeping in touch through mail with the people who received the book
• Encouraging the people who are reading this book to personally walk with God on a daily basis

Prayer requests:

• The persons that will benefit of this literature to be really blessed by God.
• Using the literature will not bring only intellectual knowledge but personal knowledge of God as well.
• Personal wisdom in knowing how to maintain personal contacts with the people.
• Wisdom in knowing how to address the questions and the issues raised by these.

Needs:

• Financial support to cover for the expenses of Christian literature distribution by mail
• Receiving on time the Romanian Bibles so that we could deliver them to those who answered to all of the questions from the bible study book Let’s Study Mark and Acts.
